While both cities fell quickly the inner valleys and roads of Norway where defended fiercly. The Germans bombed Elverum and would not have done so if they allready controlled the area. The German troops in Trondheim and Tronderlag was locked in place by Norwegian and British forces for two weeks.

Its even not mentioned that the germans met their first large defeat in Narvik where english, polish, french and norwegian soldiers led by General Fleischer pushed them out of Narvik. Furthermore Norway held out longest of all except UK and Russia, 2 months, compared to poland and france with 2-3 weeks each.

On the contrary we never made any official alliance witht the UK&USA. Technicaly we were done with the war the 10th og may.
