Louis almost meets his match when he hooks up with self-styled PR guru Max Clifford. He follows Max as he works on promoting Westlife, a child-singer and the then rising star Simon Cowell. He watches Max both destroying and creating stories around Cowell and himself and it is not long before he is spun onto the headlines himself.
